About The Book:
The Lotus Queen - a historical fiction based on fact, set in medieval Rajasthan
1303 AD, Rajasthan, India. Queen Padmini's new life in Chittor, the capital of the Rajput kingdom of Mewar, is rudely shattered by the arrival of the Sultan of Delhi who, smitten by her beauty and obsessed with the desire to possess her, lays siege to the fort.

As the Rajputs face total destruction, Padmini knows but one route to freedom and honour. It is a decision that would lead her people to a fate yet unheard of in history. A decision that would affect an entire people and inspire generations to come.

Set against the dramatic landscape of one of Rajasthan’s most famous forts in the 14th century, The Lotus Queen is a modern retelling of the story of one of the most legendary figures in India: Queen Padmini. The book blends fact and fiction and weaves together a tale of love, friendship and courage in the face of extreme adversity. The Lotus Queen brings alive the era by an extensive research on historical facts and represents well, the tumultuous events that led to the destruction of Mewar during that time.
